Just about finished with a custom kitchen and hearthroom. We were hired on to build the kitchen and fireplace surround, along with vanities and of course the wonderful buttery. Just a few knobs to put on and done!
Above is the buttery - using old reclaimed wood.
And can you believe this is brand new! My hubby is sure talented!
Kitchen Poor lady was moving in and I was snapping pics, so excuse the clutter I was eager to get pictures and didnt want to wait until all was unpacked. Ill try to have some better pictures since I have to go back and hang all her curtains - well I have to make all her curtains first. LOL I need more hours in a day or more hands. Either one ill take!

FliP FlOp
This is what happens when I can not sleep - I redo rooms in my head, create projects, and do make overs on all my friends homes.
Above is what my dining room looked like before. And below is the new "sitting room" I made it into. I am also painting the walls a new cream/mustard color with a red trim. Was going to do that painting when I was home recovering from my gallbladder removal. Nope that did not happen WAY to sore.
The 2 pictures below was my old sitting room.
Now it is my new dinning room. I really like this lay out - how long it will stay who knows! My hubby always says its a good thing he is not a drinker cause he never knows where the furniture will be, so he has to stay clear headed.
I move the furniture often and love the way it makes me feel. Im happy with my mini makeovers.
Well I hear my sewing machine calling my name! Have a great weekend and up coming Mothers day.
Oh for you mothers out there my youngest son turned 18 two weeks ago and bought a race car for the dirt track, tonight hes racing and I stayed home for the first one - I dont think my nerves could handle the first race, I sent dad with strict rules to let me know how it goes right away. He raced the last few years but just Hornet class which is little 4 cylinder cars like hondas/neons etc. Now its the big guys with more horse power. Ok I cant talk about it anymore my blood pressure is going up - hes my youngest and I wish I could wrap him in bubble wrap and keep him safe.
Have a good one!!!

Random
Well I know its been awhile since my last post - I have been recovering from having my gallbladder removed, I totally under estimated the healing time. I was thinking I will repaint the dining room before going back to work - nope paint is still sitting there. But the exciting part is I can actually eat food again. I was only eating rice chex and bread for a few months prior to surgery. You would think I would have lost a few pounds, but no since all I could eat was high starch and sugary food.
Any how - these are a few things I DID get accomplished.... The above sampler is 8x10 (stitched area) I LOVE this one - have not framed it yet.
This is just a little one - stitched area is 5x7AND this is a great old grubby high chair I found at a local junk store. Funny thing is I found it last fall and didnt buy it (I have no idea why I didnt buy it. I do that often much to my hubbys frustration - cause Ill talk about the item for weeks!). Well the store closed for a few months and I thought about this chair - even had dreams about this silly chair! Well when the shop reopened I went up and there is was buried under a box! It was meant to be I guess... I have a doll sitting in it and I love it.
Here is just a little grouping I put together.
Well sorry it has been so long. :-(
Happy SPRING!

Sping has sprung
Spring is here - well for now... I am hoping the other shoe does not drop and it gets cold again. My back yard is melting nice and the pond is needing to be cleaned and filled - just not quit yet.
Can you believe my tulips are coming up! The lower picture is the what they will look like when in full bloom. It is a triple tulip, the other kind that I have planted in with these looks like a peony. As you can see we have sandy soil up here but they dont seem to mind.

My house
I thought since a lot of you have seen my home decorated for Christmas on the blog by my yellow farmhouse, Id show you how it looks during the "off season." Above is my kitchen looking from the hearthroom. I just love my painted red cabinets. We built just about everything in our home - cabinets included. Actually the house itself, we drew the prints and pounded the nails.
This is the kitchens "working" area.
This is the foyer, this is where the large 15-16 foot Christmas tree goes.
Heres what you see when you enter the front door, its the cozy hearth room. Plus I see my little doggies toy made it in the photo. She was following me around when I was taking pictures carrying her little "bobo".
The living room, the big screen tv is behind the green doors.
The sitting room - no one ever uses this room. Kinda sad.
Dining room
Dining room
Laundry Room, back door and garage entrance.
Master bedroom.
One of the kids old rooms that is now a guest bed.
Another of the kids old room that I "primified" after they moved out.
I just love this beds coverings!
My harvest guest bedroom. As you can see I had 3 boys living here but all have there own homes now but the youngest who is almost 18 and wanted his room in the basement a few years ago - crazy kid. lol
Well I hope you enjoyed the little tour of my home!
