I love the use of alphabets in samplers. The one below is even missing some letters - which is how the pattern was, I know my ABC's lol
This one (below) has such great colors - harvest shades.
First let me start out by saying I think I have gone a bit crazy... I am in love with stitching these little samplers. And I do mean little. For all you stitchers out there you will understand when I say these are sewn with 1 thread of DMC floss, now I dont mean the way it comes off the skein I mean pull a length then separate the 6 threads that make that strand up and use only one. These are some of my finished ones. I took one look at the patterns and thought hmm this will take awhile. But I have completed 4 since late summer. I put a nickle in the picture so you can get an idea on size. Funny thing I can not stitch these with my contacts in - cant see good enough with the tiny detail, only can do them wearing my glasses -- readers WITH my contacts maybe needed???
Those are just wonderful! I am so distressed when I think of all the 'cutesy' country x-stitch project I did 20+ years ago - they're long out of style and discarded now - if I'd done timeless designs like these alphabet samplers of yours, I still be treasuring them! I've found a few free patterns online, but I rarely get around to working on them.

ReplyDeleteHi MIchelle welcome to blogland I myself dont have a blog but follow lots you fellow crafters out there. Love your site although I haven't xstitched in years (started out with xstitch years ago), I now do way too much other craft, I myself did a 1 thread on 1 count although not in primitive it was a bowl of roses and vase nearly did my head in, but I finished it and it's my favourite piece still hangs in my bedroom. Love all crafts so kick up the blooging and will follow, thanks again for sharing and for reminding me. Cheryl
